we’re closed here, but you can see our new site at http://www.superraginggamers.com
Hello everyone, due to the great response we’ve had lately, we’re pushing the move to an updated site from May to this Month. What does this mean? Well if you have subscribed, please visit us at ragingamerz.com again in about a week to resubscribe. We’re moving away from WordPress.com, so sadly this means we’ll loose many followers.
The site’s appearance wont look to drastic, it’s mostly backdoor things for our authors. Also with a new site comes new Authors. I’m happy to have the connections we’ve made and look forward to the future articles our writers write.
You’ll notice some changes visually to the website, and I hope you enjoy them. We will eventually have our own custom art in the coming months. Also with this change out podcast are able to be placed right on our website.
As I said, please come back in a week to resubscribe if you aren’t already. If you haven’t at all, we would love to add you to the family.
So there is something I wanted to write about for a while, but haven’t because it’s a bit complicated. It is so complicated because it involves….well time travel.
Nintendo officially released the Legend of Zelda time line to the masses. This is old news, however, they just recently released the book that contained the timeline to America. The Zelda time line claims to split into three time lines from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. These three paths are
- Link defeating Ganon after his rise to power
- Link as a child before Ganon rised to power
- and…. Link failing in his quest (dead as a door knob)
Nintendo says three time lines, those are it. I say nay IMPOSSIBLE!
Well gamers today I was pleasantly surprised with a gift from our friends at Sony. I hooked my PS3 back up after an extended period playing Fable 2 on my 360 to discover that I had a message. The message was indicating that I was being given a voucher to redeem for $10 to use on the PSN store. Naturally I initially thought it was total bullshit. Koopa and myself used to get this all the time from friends and random people as chain messages telling us if we sent it to 50 other people Sony would give us $50. What surprised me was that the sender was PSN and the reason for the voucher was for my loyalty as a PSN customer. The link on the message took me directly to the store and voila, there in the store it confirmed my $10. How freaking awesome is that? Seeing as how I was looking to purchase Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City for $4.99 pre-owned at BestBuy I can potentially invest the $10 towards one of the DLC packs, a PSN game or finally get Harley Quinn’s Revenge for Arkham City. The choices are abundant and what makes spending the money even better was that it was given to me. Free money is the best kind of money! Thanks for reading, leave a comment at your leisure, check your PSN messages and as always game on gamerz!
Having recently purchased the title on sale at GameStop for $20 I thought I would write briefly about my experience with the game thus far. Playing Anarchy Reigns gives me hope for more similar titles to follow and if you’ll forgive the pun shows the beat ém up genre still has some fight left in it. With that said I have to say that Platinum studios have crafted yet another solid and enjoyable title through their partnership with Sega. The first thing I have to say about Anarchy reigns is I really love is the character roster which is a total of 17 if you count Bayonetta who is only available as DLC for those lucky enough to have pre-ordered the game. Each character has their own unique personality, move set, weapons and special techniques. While the campaign is long its focus is on two main characters Jack and Leo. The other playable characters are unlocked only through the course of the campaign for use in the online co-op and competitive modes. Combat is simple yet somewhat deep but not the kind of depth that you would find in a standard fighting game. The game world or levels you play in are big and missions unlock as you achieve high scores beating hordes of enemies. Now to the meat of the game which is the online modes. I really appreciate the co-op modes because that’s when it starts to feel like an old school beat ém up. Perhaps my only real complaint in regards to the game was that co-op wasn’t implemented into the campaign. A minor gripe of course and something im sure will be addressed if a sequel (fingers crossed) is ever developed. Competitive mode will take some getting used to as it can be a bit chaotic but fun as all hell to play. Imagine Uncharted 3 but instead of using guns players run around beating the crap out of each other with martial arts. There are other modes for online to talk about but that’s mostly what I’ve played so far with the time I’ve had with the game. The beat ém up genre has been long in need of some resuscitation and Anarchy Reigns is a wonderful step in the right direction. The question is will other developers follow suit? If anything a game like this should have Sega wondering if they should let Platinum develop a sequel to their Streets of Rage series. What about Capcom with their Final Fight? Granted they released a sequel in 2006 but the game was a commercial and critical failure for Capcom. While I do love and appreciate games like Double Dragon Neon and Scott Pilgrim with their old school charm, for the genre to truly thrive it has to have more releases like Anarchy Reigns to innovate and move it forward. Well that’s my first impression of Anarchy Reigns and you may take from it what you will but these are just my opinions. If you’re a beat ’em up enthusiast like myself it’s definitely a purchase and if you’re unsure about it’s at least worth a rental. Got a comment leave it below. If you want to game with me it’s AriesKnight78 on PS3. Game on gamerz!
I know what you’re probably thinking, “will this guy ever stop talking about freaking Ghostbusters?” The answer to that question my friends if I haven’t already addressed it is, No. I can’t help it I just love the franchise and have since I was but a wee lad. I do draw the line however at building proton packs, quoting lines every 10 seconds or even dressing up. Not that there’s anything wrong with that it’s just my level of nerdiness is usually limited to the films, games and the animated series. So with that said I would like to share yet another funny parody I came across on Youtube recently created by James Farr involving a couple of Italian plumbers. I’ve always wanted a Ghostbusters style game involving the Mario’s since playing Luigi’s Mansion. Hell I’ve even talked about the possibility of a Ghostbusters game with characters from Gears of War. Can you imagine it for either? My biggest curiosity though is why Nintendo is sitting more or less on such an obvious premise for a video game. Who doesn’t love Ghostbusters or Super Mario Bros.? C’mon Miyamoto-san, get to work on a proper sequel of Luigi’s Mansion on the Wii U with four player co-op and some multiplayer on top of that. Also there’s a sequel coming soon so naturally I will keep you guys posted. Till then enjoy this hilarious video and as always game on gamerz!
Happy Valentine’s Day my fellow geeks and nerds. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching I wanted to write something to celebrate the holiday. Now I could be like everyone else and talk about the greatest video game romances such as Mario and Peach, Link and Zelda, or comics such as Spider-man and MJ, Superman and Lois, and Batman and….Robin? but as anyone who follows knows I don’t like to stick to tradition or rehash what everyone already knows.
Instead I’m going to talk about some characters I think need some love in their life. The ones that don’t have that princess always waiting in another castle.
