Score one for the Consumer

It’s a great day when consumers win. I’m please to say that Nintendo announced a price cut of the 3DS from $249.99 to $169.99 in the U.S. effective August 12, 2011.  Japan will see a price cut from 25,000 yen to 15,000 yen on August 11. Australians will see a cut from AU$349.95 down to AU$250 on August 12. Pricing for Europe has not been announced.

I think this proves that we as buyers can get our way. No triple A games and an obviously high price point will push people away. Also those who already purchased it will get 20 free games on the eshop. Pretty awesome deal right?

Now if we could only do this with Capcoms multiply release of the same game we would be great.

Oh and I’m also still waiting for that Mario red 3DS bundle for Christmas. I feel it coming.

More Comicon news

Ok first off, Freddy Kruger as is in Mortal Kombat as dlc.  He comes out August 9th on both systems. Next a Star Wars teamed xbox was announced.  A white R2D2 system and Kinect with a gold C3PO controller.  It will also come with the Kinect Star Wars game.  I beleive the price will be 399.99 someone correct me if I am wrong.  I haven’t gotten to work to check it yet.  Also Capcom announced that they have canned Mega Man Legends 3, which to me is a huge dissapointment!

On the positive side, X-Men: Destiny officially has a release date!  September 27, 2011.  Also the new Spiderman game, Edge of Time has an October 4, 2011 release date.  I must wonder, why the heck is everything coming out between September and November?  Halo: Anniversary collection is slated for a November 15th release date with preorder bonuses from Gamestop and Walmart (An ingame skull, Grunt Funeral, and an armor set of Master Chief for your avatar for both) as of now I am not aware of other bonuses as Best Buy doesn’t seem to have anything going on…YET.

Batman Can Shove It!

I’m the God D*** Batman! or at least I have been for the last few days. I’ve been playing Batman: Arkham Asylum again after two years trying to finish up my trophies for it before Arkham City hits in October; that and I have a lot of more free time lately.

The trophies I specifically  have been working on lately are the combat challenges and boy are there reasons for me waiting two years. To reach the score you need on each combat map is a feat I can’t imagine many doing. I played Splatterhouse’s challenge rooms and from what I recall they weren’t easy, but also seemed far from impossible. I’ll admit, I screamed, cursed, and stayed up to all hours of the morning until I got what rooms I wanted completed. One room particular I spent over three hours on. Trying to reach a godly score within a time limit and not die will require the bursting of your brain cells.

Thankfully, I did acheive my goals and now only need one more trophy: beating the game on hard. Compared to those combat challenges, this will be a cake walk for sure. Actually I was so in the zone with Batman that I didn’t get to write anything until I actually finished the hard stuff.

All I have left to say is when Batman Arkham City releases this fall, watch out because I’ve trained to be a combat master. I am the God D*** Batman!

Mario Bros for Atari?

Here’s another retro video game ad for you that I came across online. This ad in particular ran in the early 80’s and like before mainly in comic books. Believe it or not this advertisement is for Mario Bros. on Atari’s 2600, 5200 and Sear’s Video Arcade System. That’s right before Nintendo took the video game market by storm with their NES in 1985 they were primarily a third party developer. Enjoy, game on gamerz!

Tron:Evolution multiplayer update

Greetings programs. Well after spending an evening watching the original TRON on blu-ray I popped in Evolution to get my Tron fix and yet once again yours truly was booted after only playing one match. My derezz (kills) was 49 and my wipes (deaths) was 3 so this time I will boast and say I owned that MUTHA FLIPPIN room kicking much ass! Thankfully I was able to find another room quickly and continued to play without interuption. Apparently I even impressed a few higher level players with my oh so sweet skillz garnering a friend request from one of them, but when you’re that damn good it just comes with the territory. Seriously though it’s a great game and the subject of an upcoming review so keep a look out for it. All and all I actually got to enjoy the multiplayer a lot more this time around and aside from being kicked off once the entire night there wasn’t the rage I experienced last time. Of course that doesn’t mean there won’t be another episode. The websites not called Raging Gamerz for nothing. Want to play? Hit me up on the PSN network and we can battle or team up on the grid. Later dayz gamerz!
